Beautiful painting! Matches the verse perfectly… I could see myself laying in a thistle field, watching the seeds floating away on the breeze…; -)

Thank you, Liam. 😊
Not always, but in many cases the painting inspires the poem…like this one.

That’s frequently the order of my paintings and poems, too…; -)

Love the Haiku! The painting is exceptional. I have been to many art museums, but have not seen a style exactly like this. Would love to see the original. Is this in a gallery anywhere? It definitely needs to be broadly seen.

The original is in a plastic tote under my bed along with other paintings that I have not gifted to friends and relatives who asked for them. I paint for the pleasure it brings me, not recognition.
Thank you so much for your kind words. ☺️

Beautiful poem and painting, Kate! I am all too familiar with thistle seed and seeing it spread across the landscape. Last year alone I pulled 30,000 Italian and Milk thistles. Fun times! Your post helps me see the beauty in that which we curse or despise. Thank you, my friend 😊💚🌻☮️

My late husband hated dandelions, while I loved them. He kept them eradicated from our lawn while he was alive, but now that there is only me, I’ll let them grow. Around here, they are one of the earliest plants that bloom for hungry pollinators.
One person sees a weed…you know the rest. 😊🌿
